The I-710 Major Corridor Study is currently evaluating a final set of five alternatives. The I-710 Oversight Policy Committee may select one alternative OR may select some elements of the different alternatives (for example part of C and a different part of E). The major features of the alternatives are explained in the document final set of five alternatives.

Alternatives without maps:

Alternative A - No Build does not have maps. This alternative proposes no new project. The I-710 in 2025 would have only those improvements which are already programmed.

Alternative B - Transportation System Management/Transportation Demand Management does not have maps. This alternative proposes technology and traffic planning or incentive improvements which can be implemented within the existing path of the freeway.

Alternatives with maps:

No project has yet been approved. Design of the alternatives is conceptual and the right-of- way impacts depicted are approximate. They represent a reasonable but approximate illustration of how much property might be needed to construct each overall design concept as it now stands. IF a design concept is selected and IF it is funded, THEN an environmental impact statement/environmental impact report will be prepared. In this case, the design concept will continue to evolve. The environmental process will investigate impacts and mitigations in detail and will provide opportunities for public comment. Preliminary engineering will be performed to refine the design and clarify the right-of way impacts. Property acquisition for any alternative is not anticipated before 2009.

VIEWING

  • Find the LEGEND of the alternative you wish to view (C,D, or E) below.
  • Note the color coding on the legend. It will explain the primary purpose of each particular right-of way impact.
  • Find the numbered map of the geographic area you wish to view (1 through 9).
  • Click on the corresponding area to the right of the map.
  • Maps are available as Adobe™ pdf files or jpg images
  • If the corresponding area is labeled "NA" then this area has no proposed construction.
Note: these are very large files (nearly 2 megabytes each) and will take a while to download/view.

PRINTING
  • Save the maps to your own computer. Usually, if your mouse cursor hovers over the link, you can right click with your mouse to "save target as" instead of bringing up the image in your browser window.
  • These are very large images and are best printed while utilizing image rendering software readily available from your local retailers.
